Science is a systematic attempt to understand natural phenomena in as much detail and depth as possible and use the knowledge so gained to predict , modify and control phenomena .
Science is exploring. Experimenting and predicting form what we see around as. The curiosity to learn about the world , unravelling the secrets of nature is the first step towards the discovery of science .
The scientific method involves several interconnected steps :
1) systematic observation,
2) controlled experiments ,
3) qualitative and quantitative reasoning
4) mathematical modeling ,
5) prediction and verification or
6) flasification of theroies.
Speculation and conjecture also have a place in science ; but ultimately a scientific theroies , to be acceptable , must be verified by relevant observation or experiments.
There is much philosophical debate about the nature and method or science that we need not discuss here.
The interplay of theroy and observation (or experiments ) is basic to the progress of science .
Science is ever dynamic . There is no 'final' theroy in science and no unquestioned authority amoung scientist.
