Transistor
~ a transistor is a three - terminal semiconductor device.
~ which has three terminals namely :
1). emmiter (E)
2). Base (B)
3). Collector (c)
~ Transistors are the device that have revolutionized the electronics field and are discovered by JOHN BARDEEN , WALTER BRATTAIN and WILLIAM SHOCKLEY.
~ Transistor are of two types :
1) bipolar junction transistor ( BJT)
2) field effect transistor (FET)
1) BIPOLAR JUNCTION TRANSISTOR :
~ These Transistors are commonly known as junction Transistors.
~ these were the first type of transistor produced in 1947 by BELL LABS.
~ Bipolar junction Transistor are of two types :
1) NPN TRANSISTORS
2) PNP TRANSISTORS
2). The field effect transistor :
~ the field Transistors are a type of Transistors that uses an electric field to control the current .
~ Field effect Transistors are known as unipolar Transistors.
~ This device has three terminals :
SOURCE , GATE and DRAIN
